The government’s 2018 Mid-Year Economic and Fiscal Outlook has brought disappointing news for Research Training in Australia. Freezing the total funding distributed through the Research Training Program at 2018 levels whilst maintaining the indexation of RTP stipends in 2019, will take $66m out of the research training coffers in coming years and challenge the important and expanding task of providing graduate research training for our nation. ACGR has written to Minister Tehan to protest this decision and seek his support in redressing the situation.
