No doubt the hot topic of conversation at present is the Australian Universities Accord Interim Report. An extensive document full of ‘spiky’ ideas, the release of the Interim Report presents another opportunity for the voice of the Graduate Research sector to be heard as we think through the implications of the report propositions and offer thoughtful responses. To this end, ACGR will be hosting a discussion webinar for colleagues to engage in conversation in response to the report to inform ACGRs submission to the Australian Universities Accord Panel. We look forward to hearing your thoughts and representing them to the Panel through our response.
In this update, we are delighted to announce the opening of registrations for the ACGR Internationalisation of Graduate research Symposium to be held at Monash University on 25th October. The symposium will bring together local and international perspectives to explore the internationalisation of graduate research, discussing its impact on academia, industry collaborations, and global research networks. The event will include thought-provoking panel discussions and engage in lively Q&A sessions. Additionally, there will be time for networking, allowing you to connect with colleagues, exchange ideas, and forge new collaborations. We look forward to welcoming you and your colleagues to this event.
Looking forward, we have an exciting few months of ACGR events ahead as we move through the back half of 2023, offering members a range of opportunities to engage in discussions, connect with colleagues and strengthen ties within the graduate research community.
We encourage members to engage with these opportunities as we continue to work to support the wonderful work being undertaken across the graduate research community.
Best regards
Imelda Whelehan, ACGR President
