ACGR Update September 2023

It’s been a busy month for ACGR with an abundance of exciting news to share with you in this update. Of course distilling member insights into our response to the Australian Universities Accord Interim Report has been top of our agenda and we’ve ensured your voice has been added to the ongoing conversation in the ACGR submission to the Accord Panel.

The Executive Committee has been working diligently throughout the year to bring to fruition two collaborations to further benefit members, as we announce ACGR’s collaboration with the Australasian Research Management Society (ARMS) on the reinvigoration of the Australasian Research Training  Network (ARTN) and ACGR’s support for Phase 2 of the Australian Human Rights Institute and the Gendered Violence Research Network Understanding HDR candidate-supervisor relationship challenges project. Support for these initiatives will further expand the training, networking, and development opportunities available to ACGR members. We look forward giving you ongoing updates as these projects unfold.

On the events front we are entering a strong back half of 2023 opening registrations for our ACGR National Meeting on November 13th and 14th and the Graduate Research Leadership Program on October 17th and 18th, not to mention the Internationalisation of Graduate Research Symposium on October 25th.

With multiple opportunities to engage we look forward to supporting you as we look forward to the coming months.

Best regards

Imelda Whelehan, ACGR President
Tracy Sullivan, Executive Director
