We’ve made it to the halfway mark for 2024 and there is much exciting work on the horizon here at ACGR. We have multiple initiatives in train that we look forward to updating you on in the coming months but for now we ask that you lock November 7th and 8th in your calendar for the second 2024 ACGR National Member Meeting for 2024 to be held online.
This month’s update contains opportunities to engage in conversations on supporting HDR candidates in career conversations and to hear from our Griffith University colleagues on their innovative AQF equivalencies framework. Not to mention our upcoming TinyHabits for Supervisory Success Masterclass. You’ll also note a call for expressions of interest to serve on the ACGR Good Practice Guidelines for the use of Generative AI in HDR working group. This has been a hot topic at our last three National Member Meetings and in response to your calls for guidance we will work to add the use of generative AI to our existing suite of Good Practice Guidelines. We look forward to receiving your expressions of interest.
On a final note, you’ll no doubt be aware of the release of the Implementation Consultation Paper for the Australian Tertiary Education Commission (ATEC). As your peak body, ACGR welcomes the opportunity to respond to this consultation paper and will advocate for clear and present representation of the graduate research community. We look forward to sharing this work with you in the coming months and encourage you to share your thoughts as we craft a response.
Best regards
Louise Sharpe, Interim ACGR President
